My tip would help but I also don't use it! Go figure...
Type the blog in notepad first and save... then cut and paste to the blog editor... :-)
Hope you still have the basics in your head?

Get a "SanDisk Cruzer 1GB". My Dad has one. It's a USB memory device that you can put on a key-chain (It costs about $100). Plug that little sucker into any computer that has a USB port. Then make a basic .txt file on it and start writing. Hit the "Ctrl+S" keyboard combo often and you wouldn't lose 1600 words, Sir!

Keep yourself as safe as possible.

I am deeply saddened by the fact that you would delete comments posted to your open site. If you do not wish to receive posts different from your own view you should consider a closed site. Furthermore, being such a patriot, you may have heard of a famous man by the name of Thomas Jefferson who once said, "Dissent is the purest form of patriotism"

Ma Deuce Gunner, I just came to your blog for the first time and I like it. I am not saying that so that I can continue on and insult you.

When I first read the anon post above I thought, "there's not much I like less than an unsolicited sermon from a holier than thou type". Now I've got to add,"who you have to live with".

What is that genius thinking? If I were going out on patrols The last thing I would do is start calling into question the level of faith of those you're rolling with.

Hey Anon, you obviously think that MDG is spiritually poorer than you, have obvious pride in your righteousness and are persecuting MDG; you wicked thing.

MDG, I livein sunny San Diego and we have militant vagrants(MV's) downtown.
I used to give change and such to them but never do anymore. Here are a couple of experinces I've had or heard of.

Me: Sorry man, I'm out of change.
MV: Don't you have any cash?

MV: Can you give me some money? I'm hungry?(we're outside a liquor store)
Me: I'll go in and get you a sandwich and a gatorade, you want roast beef or turkey?
MV: no man, just give me some money, I'm gonna eat later.
Me: that's okay, It'll keep.
MV: F-you man!

At a sidewalk cafe We had an deal just like yours and the guy goes to another table where the folks offer to buy him an app to go. MV responds that since it's a nice place why don' they just give him ten bucks and he'll get out of their way. He had class.

I don't think you think you're cool MDG; you KNOW you're cool.

Well, Anonymous 9:46, You and I both know why I feel that that comment is disrespectful. We talked about it the night you came in from the night patrol, and I asked you to not refer to me as "Deuce", for I do not believe that is the way an enlisted soldier should address an NCO.

Like I said, Debate is NOT shunned.

So, come and talk to me, Anon, I am right here. Lets discuss our conflicting issues. I am leaving it up to you to come to me with your heartburn, because I have none with you, as long as you can be respectful and cordial.

Hey Deuce,
First off you are a Junior NCO. Second, why are you so afraid to leave this discourse up? Are you afraid your fan club will see that you cannot handle an open discussion. This is a blog, this is the World Wide Web. Why waste my time chatting in person when a so called “open” blog is a great way to communicate.

Why call me Anon? My name is clearly printed at the bottom. Ten Twenty-Five Driver, Preserving freedom four wheels at a time.

I hoped you would leave the post on, since I figured you would follow the FOX News creed. I report and let you decide.

Again Deuce, I ask why delete my post? I do not see why you are so threatened by it. If however, I were to talk to you in person, all you would do is throw your “rank” and your ego about.

You would leave a post by deanberry for his rants about “Gods Army”, but you would delete mine. I dare say do you agree with him? Do you not have people within this platoon that are practicing Wicca’s and Pagan’s? If you do not like my post, then say why not. Post for everybody to see. Why hide behind selective censorship?

Please note that many and I do mean many believe that I should sling mud and tear you down. However that is not what I have chosen to do. You made a comment and all I ask is for you to own up to it and back it up.

I am sorry you feel threatened to leave my comment posted. This post however patronizing, was not disrespectful.
"The comment section of this blog is reserved for commenters who can bring points, however differing from mine" Is what I have done here. I have raised questions and brought my own point of view. The only people who have been disrespected have been the homeless and that is on your head.

Heya Deuce,
Great site! You are a good novelist. Being in Iraq as well, I do find your accounts to be quite comical if not a bit over the top. But to each his own, right? However I do find cause to comment on your supposed good Christian morals. In a recent posting you wrote:

We then ate dinner at a nice Italian place, on the patio. As we prayed over our meal, some really shady looking homeless guy stopped next to our table, and when I finished praying, I looked up and there was a smelly, hairy guy standing waaaay to close to my table, just on the other side of a little plastic fence, staring at our food. I tell you, he just about got to meet my Kimber Custom TLE II. I think he sensed I was not happy with his presence, and he quickly moved on.

I wonder, what were you praying about? Peace on earth? Naw, too Mickey Mouse for you, huh? New car? Not very proper. Goodwill toward men? Nope, you want to preserve peace though a .50 cal. Half inch at a time, I think is your catch phrase. Was it to help the poor and the needy? Nope, you wanted to point a $1000 pistol at a “shady looking homeless guy.”

So you go from praying for salvation to shooing away a person in need and wishing to cause harm to a fellow American? Where does that put your good Christian morals at?

Psalms 10:2 “The wicked in his pride doth presecute the poor…:” I guess your pride got the best of you did it not Duece?

Luke 14:13 “But when one makest a feast call the poor, the maimed, the lame and the blind.” Oops, missed that one too did you not.

Why would you even post such a thing? To show how cool you are, I am sorry to inform you that it failed. Well GI keep on goin, however I do wish to leave you with one more quote.

“Recall the face of the poorest and most helpless person you have seen and ask yourself if the next step you contemplate is going to be of any use to that person.” M.K. Gandhi

Ten Twenty Five Driver -

You are not offering a counter point of view. You are mocking someone else's view. Your comment drips with sarcasm. And it's obvious that you think that you're smarter than everyone else.

BTW, a junior NCO is an NCO.

Good luck with that Army career thing.

Why do people always get so hot under the collar when a blogger or for that matter a forum administrator deletes something that does not fit the SITE OWNERS rules? Free speech is only for the corner of the street or the newspaper letter dept... In all other instances we are guests and should behave as guests... i.e. Respect the site owner and his/her decisions.
If you are known by the site owner you should show even more respect, cyberspace is not the place to take a private feud... it could be construed as harrasment... wich in most contries is a crimminal offence... grow up and face the man eye to eye and if he is a superior at attention!

Someday, probably sooner rather than later, Ten Twenty Five Driver will officially step on his crank.

I know that as a former "junior NCO" myself, I wouldn't stick out my "junior NCO" neck for him. Save that for the ones that are worth it.

(Actually I ended up with so much time in grade that I suppose I could consider myelf to have been a senior "junior NCO" whatever the hell that is. It shows to go you what can happen when you do too much to cover for your subordinates.) That one ain't worth it.

Deuce i too would like to know why you feel so threatened by Ten Twenty Five Driver's comments. He is showing his point of view . That is all. Isn't this a place where people can come to give constructive critisim about one another. I think that he is just trying to help you become a better person that is all and if you feel so threatened then why did you start this blog in the first place. I mean come on did you not expect to turn heads? Not every comment can be about how great you are, I mean we all know the truth about you.

1025 driver you will not disrespect duece again! It will not be tollerated. This is your last warning. If you do you will be hanged and then burned, not litterally by the UCMJ of course. 1025 Driver you are an embarressment to team alfa and the scout platoon. Your clear lack of respect for NCO's could get somebody killed. To correct this you need to apologize to deuce on this blog site and be at deuce's door at 0530 tommarrow in your PT gear. Deuce will then smoke you untill he feels you have learned your lesson. ma deuce gunner sr. OUT!

Deuce im really interested on how you can protect the freedom of the american people half an inch at a time so well when you have probabaly slept most of the time that you have been in Iraq. Now im not saying that you don't work but i was also wondering if you are still proficent at your army tasks. Such as PT for example. I know that your thumbs are quite impressive from all the time that you have spent playing Halo and if this war was more like a game im sure you would have this level memorised.

At 11:34 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

It’s not about the rank or making you look good. What happened to doing the mission and coming back and glad everybody made it back to see one more day. Brother in arms is what both of you are, should look at meaning. Is this the way 1025 driver and deuce are going to spend the rest of there deployment fighting like little girls. Deuce you wanting to pull a pistol on a homeless person, then come to Iraq were most of the people are homeless. Why not point that Ma Deuce that you are so proud off and finish the job. Don’t most of the Iraq people look like shady characters? So grow up and do the job that needs to be done. So shut your yaps and get to work, get the job done and come home safely.

At 8:51 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Life is about learning how to agree to disagree. MDG--your comments about the homeless man make me sick; apparently you have some growing up to do. 1025--this is MDG's site and by posting in this forum, you too show your immaturity. Any chance the two of you will make it back home alive and whole? Remember, after all is said and done, you have to be able to look yourself in the eye in that mirror.
